China claims Trump is ‘pouring oil’ on Iran-Israel tensions

On Tuesday, China leveled accusations against President Donald Trump, claiming he is “pouring oil” on the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. This statement followed the US leader’s warning to residents of Tehran to “immediately evacuate.”

After years of hostility and an extended covert conflict, Israel initiated an unexpected airstrike last week targeting various locations in Iran. The Israeli government stated that the operation was intended to thwart its long-standing adversary from obtaining nuclear weapons, a claim that Tehran has refused.

The recent escalation in hostilities has raised concerns about a potential broader conflict, as Trump calls on Iran to return to negotiations following Israel’s strikes that disrupted ongoing nuclear discussions.

In a striking announcement on his Truth Social platform, Trump urged, “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

In response to Trump’s comments, Guo Jiakun, spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry, stated: “Fanning the flames, pouring oil, making threats and mounting pressure will not help to promote the de-escalation of the situation, but will only intensify and widen the conflict.”

The Chinese government has urged all relevant parties, particularly nations with significant influence over Israel, to fulfill their responsibilities. They are calling for immediate actions to de-escalate tensions and to prevent the conflict from escalating further.

On Tuesday, China’s embassy in Israel issued a statement urging its citizens to exit the country “as soon as possible” following a series of intense strikes exchanged between Israel and Iran.

The Chinese embassy in Israel has stated WeChat urging Chinese nationals to exit the country promptly through land border crossings, contingent upon their ability to ensure personal safety.

“The recommendation is to head towards Jordan,” it stated.

The embassy issued a warning that the conflict is “continuing to escalate.”

“Significant damage has been inflicted on civilian infrastructure, civilian casualties are increasing, and the security situation is deteriorating,” it stated.
