Netanyahu’s Trail of Fire: From Gaza to Syria — Now Iran Feels the Heat

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has provoked international outrage once more with a new series of lethal airstrikes in Iran, following recent bombardments in Gaza and ongoing covert operations in Syria, a move that many global observers deem a calculated and relentless campaign.

Civilian casualties are increasing, with local humanitarian organisations reporting several fatalities, including women and children, in Gaza’s Rafah sector.  Satellite imagery verifies the obliteration of entire neighbourhoods.  The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented an increase in Israeli missile strikes on Damascus and Aleppo, purportedly directed against Iranian-backed militias, while frequently affecting residential areas.

Tehran is already reeling from a purported drone and missile strike on a munitions factory in Isfahan—an assault that Iranian officials attribute directly to Israel.  Although Netanyahu’s administration has not affirmed nor refuted involvement, his previous language indicates a “preemptive defence” stance that he employs to rationalise such actions.

Critics contend that Netanyahu is utilising military aggression as a political diversion and depicting Israel as an enduring victim while implementing a policy of “regional destabilisation under the pretext of security,” according to some experts.

Global organisations have urged for moderation.  As Netanyahu intensifies his commitment to deterrence, the death toll escalates, along with worldwide scepticism over his persistent narrative of victimisation.
