Iran’s supreme leader pledged to impart “unforgettable lessons” to the United States on Saturday, coinciding with Washington’s announcement of its initial military fatalities since resuming hostilities with the Islamic republic.
A month after the two sides made a now-broken initial deal to end their conflict, Tehran attacked infrastructure in the Gulf as revenge for a week of increasing US attacks, which Iran said had affected an airport, a train station, and bridges.

“The American enemy, in its efforts to stir up conflict and face serious consequences, should understand that the respected Iranian people and the resistance coalition have important lessons for it,” he said, according to state television.
Major General Mohsen Rezaei, a high-ranking military consultant to Khamenei, cautioned that Tehran will begin “comprehensive offensive actions” should US airstrikes persist in the forthcoming days.
Iran will cease to confine itself to reciprocal, equivalent reactions,” Mohsen stated, as reported by state media.
The recent round of aggression was instigated by Iranian assaults on vessels in the crucial Strait of Hormuz, an essential route for Gulf energy exports that Tehran aims to dominate.
